Understand the Limitations of Your Mobile Device

While mobile devices can change the way nephrologists practice medicine, it’s important to understand that they are not a replacement for your laptop or desktop computer. Don’t expect to see the same features and functionality on a mobile application as you would on a fully-featured software program for your laptop.

“As a developer, I’m trying to solve the problem of a doctor who is on the go and needs to look up information or do a quick task,” Bonham said. “The mobile app shouldn’t intrude on your workflow— it’s there as [a] quick way to glance at patient data or approve an order when you’re not connected to your ultimate device of choice.”
