When the holidays creep up upon us, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two days we are all too familiar with.
Have you heard of Giving Tuesday? This is the first year I have ever heard of it. It's a day where you think about and help those in need, either just by donating your time or, if you are able to, financially.
Individuals with kidney disease, as well as all the physicians, researchers and everyone else in the renal community, are always hoping for a way to make life a little easier for those with the disease. Whether it be a new medication or equipment that will allow a patient to lead a "normal" life, there is room for improvement, but the funding and time is needed to move forward with any upcoming research.
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is part of Giving Tuesday. Every little bit counts and if you are able to donate to the NKF log onto their donation Website.
If you donate to the NKF the contributions will support patient and professional education, research, organ donation awareness and early detection programs.
If you don't have the funds to be able to help someone, try volunteering for an upcoming kidney walk or spend some time with a patient. You might be surprised what you learn. If you have a different kidney organization that you support, donate your time or money to them.
