The U.S. News & World Report released the top 50 nephrology hospitals. A hospital is only listed in the ranking if 171 inpatients in need of high level of expertise in this specialty were treated in 2008 to 2010, or enough specialists recommended the hospital for such patients. The score was based on the following criteria: Reputation with specialist, survival, success in keeping patients safe, patient volume and nurse staffing. Here is a list of the 10 that made it to the top.
