Beacon Health Partners (BHP) from Long Island were recently chosen to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) began under the Affordable Care Act. Nephrologist Simon Prince, MD, spearheaded the development of Beacon Independent Practice Association (IPA) and this year has moved into an ACO.  He discusses some of the reasons why he made the transition in this Q&A session.
