A Q&A With the New NKF President
Beth Piraino, MD, of Pittsburgh, was appointed as president of the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) on October 13. She took the place of past President Lynda A. Szczech, MD, MSCE.
Piraino is a tenured professor of medicine and associate dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. In addition to being involved with the NKF she is also a member of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, International Society of Nephrology and Women in Nephrology.
