In late October 2012, Hurricane Sandy devastated parts of the mid-Atlantic and northeastern United States. In terms of size, it was the largest Atlantic hurricane on record. Dialysis patients were among the most vulnerable populations affected by the storm.

The KCER report reviews the actions that were taken by the organization in response to  the storm. It looked into the successes and challenges  during the preparation, impact, and recovery phases of the storm. KCER also provided recommendations for future weather emergencies.
