American Renal opens new clinic in Penn.

03/16/2007

BEVERLY, Mass.—American Renal Associates said today that it has opened a new outpatient dialysis facility in Langhorne, Penn.

Langhorne Dialysis is the first de novo clinic American Renal has opened in 2007 and is the company’s sixth facility in Pennsylvania, according to American Renal.  In addition, the new clinic has passed all regulatory requirements without any deficiencies and is now admitting patients.

American Renal said it focuses on developing new facilities in partnership with physicians and also acquires clinics in selective markets. The company opened 10 facilities in 2006 and currently has more than 66 facilities that it owns, manages or is developing in 15 states and Washington, D.C.

Langhorne Dialysis was formed through a partnership between American Renal and physicians from Kidney and Hypertension P.C. and Nephrology & Hypertension Assoc. P.C.

Each patient station at the new clinic has heated and massage dialysis chairs, satellite programming on a flat screen television, Sirius Satellite Radio, and individually controlled lighting and wireless Internet connections.

“Our facility will be personally run by experienced nephrologists who have been committed to BucksCounty and have already been serving this community for up to 25 years,” said Christopher Frankel, MD, Langhorne Dialysis medical director. “I truly believe that the shared commitments of ARA and the physicians of our team are to provide quality care to and improve the health and well being of patients needing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.”
