Lifeline Vascular Access partners with Open Access

05/20/2008

MIAMI—Lifeline Vascular Access announced May 19 that it has partnered with Open Access to provide vascular access services for dialysis patients in the south Florida area.

“My relationship with Lifeline Vascular Access goes back many years, and I am excited to work with the Lifeline Vascular Access team and continue my patient care, while expanding into more research, education and training,” Sandy Altman, MD, Open Access medical director, said in a statement.

Open Access was one of the first vascular access centers in the United States, and Altman has performed more interventional procedures on dialysis patients than anyone in the world, according to Lifeline.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Dr. Altman, who shares in our vision of specialized access care,” Gerald Beathard, MD, Lifeline’s vice president of Provider Relations, said in a news release. “When people talk about the history of vascular access for dialysis patients, they think about Open Access and Sandy Altman’s contributions to the field.”

Lifeline Vascular Access, also known as RMS Lifeline, develops and manages physician-owned outpatient vascular access centers. Lifeline manages centers in 19 states and Puerto Rico.
