MEDIA, Pa.—Dialysis provider Reliant Renal Care is planning to open a new 12-station, outpatient dialysis facility in Marlette, Mich.
The new facility is part of an existing group of dialysis facilities near Flint, Mich., and is owned in partnership with area nephrologists, according to Reliant Renal Care.
“We are proud to offer hemodialysis and self-care dialysis to Marlette-area patients at the state-of-the-art facility,” said Barbara Bednar, Reliant Renal’s president and CEO. “This is our fifth outpatient clinic in Michigan and we are excited to offer these services to area patients.”
Reliant Renal Care announced its formation in January after receiving $50 million in private equity for acquisitions and development.
“We have set up an office in Marlette and plan to develop a chronic kidney disease program to follow patients that are potential chronic kidney disease candidates based on their pre-disposed health conditions, such as diabetic patients,” said Nabil Zaki, MD, who is leading the new facility. “We plan to work closely with MarletteRegionalHospital, specifically with their Diabetic Self-Management Program.”
