MEDIA, Pa.—Dialysis provider Reliant Renal Care Inc. continued its expansion by acquiring the Summit Kidney Centers in Colorado Springs and Trinidad, Colo., according to a July 1 news release.
Summit Kidney Centers operates two dialysis centers with a total of 28 dialysis stations. Together, these centers will have the capacity to serve over 140 patients. There is also opportunity to add another center in the area, according to Reliant Renal.
“We are excited about expanding our company in the Colorado area and working with a seasoned nephrology group,” Barbara Bednar, president and CEO of Reliant Renal Care said in a statement. “The opportunity to partner with individual physician groups and share common goals is one of the key ingredients to our success. Our ability to continue expansion across the country is directly related to building strong relationships with our physicians, patients and our employees.”
Pratheep Arora MD, will be the medical director for the Colorado Springs and Trinidad units.
Reliant Renal announced its formation in January after receiving $50 million in private equity for acquisitions and development. In May, the dialysis provider announced plan to open a 12-station outpatient dialysis facility in Michigan. And in late June, Reliant Renal acquired two clinics in the Fort Worth, Texas, area.
