WASHINGTON—As reported by the Associated Press, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is estimating that the number of Americans without health insurance will grown from 45 million this year to 54 million by 2019 unless changes are made to federal policy.

The CBO cites health insurance premiums rising faster than incomes as well as wasteful and unnecessary medical care. This year, health spending is expected to reach $2.6 trillion and will account for about 18 percent of the nation's economy.
