PANAMA CITY, Fla.—iSirona signed an agreement with NxStage Medical Inc. to develop the iSirona Gateway for the NxStage System One renal dialysis system.
The iSirona gateway is being developed to allow NxStage customers to integrate critical data from their NxStage products into their hospital information systems.
Once completed, the gateway will allow critical-care facilities to leverage the NxStage System One's data collection capabilities and take advantage of iSirona's proprietary Positive Patient Identification logic. This will ensure that patient data retrieved from a device is accurately linked to the correct patient.
"We are excited to work with NxStage in delivering connectivity between the System One and clinical information systems such as the EMR," said Peter Witonsky, iSirona's president and chief sales officer. "Not only will this functionality ensure that the data is documented to the correct patient, it will improve the speed and accuracy of data available for clinical review and decision making."
