MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif..—Satellite Healthcare announced its sponsorship of The Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation's "Pathway to a Cure" walk event that will be held Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. at the state capital building in Sacramento.

The Sacramento Walk for PKD is coordinated and run by volunteers who donate their time and talent; more than 83 cents of every dollar raised goes directly toward research into a cure for PKD.

"Satellite WellBound is dedicated to educating patients with kidney disease to achieve the best clinical outcomes, but our ultimate goal is to support the cure," said Ann Robar, Executive Clinical Director at WellBound, a service brand of Satellite Healthcare. "Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a life-threatening genetic disease, affecting 600,000 Americans and over 12.5 million people worldwide, and is more common than Down Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy, and Sickle Cell Anemia combined. Our sponsorship of The Pathway to a Cure day-walk allows Satellite Healthcare to join in the fight against PKD, and assist the PKD Foundation in finding a cure."
