MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.—Satellite Healthcare teamed up with renal disease survivor and chef Elias Nasrallah to support the San Jose homeless this Thanksgiving holiday.

Nasrallah built a successful career as a chef for the past 20 years; however, his life was turned upside-down five years ago, when he was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). Despite the challenges ahead, Nasrallah refuses to let his disability get the best of him.

“Before I got kidney disease, I was a chef with a business and knew nothing about the homeless. But then, all of a sudden because of my illness, I was a blind man on dialysis, and I had to depend on others to care for me. So now, I am paying it forward the best way I know how to—by cooking them a good meal, " he said.

In conjunction with Satellite Healthcare and CityTeam Ministries of San Jose, Calif., Nasrallah cooked a Thanksgiving lunch for the homeless in San Jose, Nov. 23 and 24.
