SYRACUSE, N.Y.—The list of people who are waiting for kidney transplants in central New York is the largest its ever been, and continues to grow, according to WSYR TV.
“Upstate Medical, the only hospital in CNY that offers kidney transplants, marked Donate Life month Monday, to encourage healthy people to become donors,” according to the news station. “Last year, Upstate Medical performed 36 kidney Transplants, but with 240 people are currently on the waiting list, the average patient will have to wait at least three years to find a match.”
