MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.—Satellite Healthcare announced July 29 that it has named Brigitte Schiller as its chief medical officer (CMO).

Schiller had been serving as acting CMO for Satellite Healthcare, and the company is “thrilled” that she has agreed to accept this position in a permanent capacity, effective immediately.

“As we move into the future, we are pleased to have someone of Brigitte’s caliber lead Satellite’s medical and clinical affairs,” said president and CEO Mark Burke. “These are challenging times in our industry and we are confident Brigitte’s leadership skills and passion for advancing patient care are well suited to meet them.”

As CMO, Schiller will work closely with the medical directors and the executive team across Satellite Dialysis and WellBound, as well as oversee the internal and contract research priorities. She will also organize, develop, implement and monitor clinical practices and therapies across the company’s 47 Satellite Dialysis and WellBound locations.

Schiller has more than 25 years of medical experience spanning private practice, advisory and research roles. A summa cum laude graduate of the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg (Germany), she completed her post-graduate training, residency and research fellowships at the University of Munich, St. Luke’s Medical Center, Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. She is frequently invited to speak at medical conferences, has published more than twenty articles on dialysis and kidney-related issues, and currently serves as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology at Stanford University.
