RIDGEWOOD, N.Y.—Atlantic Dialysis Management Services LLC (ADMS) has signed a definitive agreement to provide administrative services at the Long Island-based dialysis center at Long Beach Medical Center.
The newly constructed and approved center is expected to open in the early fall and has eight hemodialysis stations.
"We are excited about the opportunity to be working with this outstanding medical center and its group of physicians as we continue to expand throughout the State of New York,” said ADMS Co-Principal Dr. J. Ganesh Bhat. “This new facility will be our fourth on Long Island.”
Long Beach Medical Center serves as the major healthcare facility for residents of Long Beach Island and the surrounding communities. Its campus includes a 162-bed acute care hospital, a 200-bed skilled nursing facility specializing in rehabilitative medicine, a certified Home Health Care Agency and a wide range of outpatient programs.
“We are pleased to introduce outpatient dialysis services to our continuum of care,” said Douglas L. Melzer, CEO of Long Beach Medical Center. “These services will greatly improve the quality of life of community residents who currently must travel outside the community, three times each week, to receive life-saving dialysis treatment. With this new Center, patients will receive treatments close to home with the latest in dialysis equipment and in a patient-centered environment.
“Another significant benefit is afforded to those individuals who need short-term rehabilitative care or nursing home placement. Because the dialysis center is on the campus of the medical center, residents of the Komanoff Center for Geriatric and Rehabilitative Medicine have easy access to the center without leaving the building. This means that on cold, wintry days or rainy weather, even the frailest of patients will be comfortable and warm as they travel through our corridor to their dialysis appointments.”
ADMS provides new dialysis site development, day-to-day administration and management of dialysis services and related business development activities.
