LAWRENCE, Mass.— NxStage Medical  is  ranked 141 on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America.

"NxStage Medical, like all 2011 Technology Fast 500 companies, have excelled in fostering innovation and channeling it into spectacular growth—against the backdrop of one of the most challenging economies in history," said Eric Openshaw, vice chairman and U.S. technology, media and telecommunications leader, Deloitte LLP. "Deloitte recognizes NxStage Medical for its remarkable accomplishment."

Rankings are based on percentage of fiscal year revenue growth during the period from 2006-2010. NxStage Medical  grew 761 percent during this period.

NxStage President and CEO, Jeffrey H. Burbank, credits the company's significant revenue growth to its success in pioneering the home hemodialysis market with its System One. NxStage's in-center business, Medisystems, was acquired by NxStage in 2007.

"NxStage is honored to be ranked among the country's most innovative companies for the fourth year in a row,” Burbank said. “We believe there are significant growth opportunities ahead and that we are well positioned to capitalize on them in a way that continues to advance the quality of care of dialysis patients."
