BAD HOMBURG, Germany—Fresenius Medical Care announced Dec. 27 that it has finalized the acquisition of Gambro’s worldwide peritoneal dialysis (PD) business.
This marks the successful completion of regulatory approvals by the relevant antitrust authorities. Currently, Gambro’s global PD business is used by more than 4,000 patients in more than 25 countries.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The deal also includes a long-term supply agreement with Gambro’s solutions manufacturing facility in YongIn, Korea. In addition, the agreement will also include a supple agreement with Gambro’s solutions manufacturing facility in Canosa, Italy, but that part of the deal is subject to “relevant council consultations.”
Fresenius will offer on-going employment opportunities for PD-dedicated Gambro employees.
