Rockwell, DaVita Sign Supply Agreement

WIXOM, Mich.—Rockwell Medical and dialysis provider DaVita have signed a supply agreement that will last until 2013, Rockwell announced March 28.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are pleased to have executed this multi-year supply agreement with DaVita, further strengthening our long-standing business relationship," said Robert Chioini, chairman and CEO of Rockwell. "We are proud to provide high-quality products and premium customer and delivery service to dialysis providers committed to offering top-level patient care, such as DaVita."

As of Dec. 31, 2010, DaVita operated or provided administrative services at 1,612 dialysis facilities, serving approximately 125,000 patients.

Rockwell manufactures hemodialysis concentrates and dialysates. The company has also just started enrolling patients in a phase 3 clinical trial for a new iron drug, called Soluble Ferric Pyrophosphate (SFP).
