NEW YORK, N.Y.—The Medicare Rights Center today launched  Medicare Rights University (MRU), a subscription-based online service that features comprehensive courses on key Medicare topics. Tailored to healthcare professionals, caregivers, consumers and others who need to learn or brush up on Medicare, MRU provides subscribers with detailed, up-to-date information about Medicare costs, coverage, appeals and more.

“Medicare Rights University is an exciting new addition to our educational programming,” said Joe Baker, president of the Medicare Rights Center. “We have drawn on over two decades of experience and the expertise of our education team, legal experts and large volunteer base to create courses for people who need to stay in the know about Medicare.”

“We developed Medicare Rights University to serve people who want in-depth Medicare training but can’t make it to our training sites” said Scott Thomas, director of education at the Medicare Rights Center. “MRU complements our online Medicare resource, Medicare Interactive, with comprehensive courses that can be accessed at any time. Subscribers can learn at their own pace and return to specific lessons wherever they left off.”

Subscribers gain unlimited access to MRU courses, which are presented in slideshow and video formats. Courses currently include:

•              Medicare Basics

•              Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Care

•              Understanding Medicare Options

•              Part D Appeals

•              Preventive Care

•              Mental Health Care

•              Let’s Learn Medicare: Medicare and Health Reform

New content, including continuing legal education training, will be added regularly. To subscribe, visit www.medicarerightsuniversity.org/members-page or visit MRU at www.medicarerightsuniversity.org .
