REDWOOD CITY, Calif.—Ascend Clinical announced Sept. 19 that it has expanded its LabCheck GO mobile platform to include Android mobile devices.

LabCheck GO is already available on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

LabCheck GO was launched in June 2009, and was the ESRD laboratory industry’s first mobile application, according to Ascend. The application delivers panic alerts, critical laboratory and environmental results, and other actionable dialysis patient information to renal professionals nationwide.

“Our research regarding what renal professionals need on a portable basis initially led us to collaborate with our clients to develop LabCheck GO two years ago. Over a third of our independent and hospital-based dialysis facilities now use LabCheck GO,” said Paul Beyer, CEO of Ascend Clinical. “Adding the Droid extends mobility to a greater share of our clients' staff, nephrologists, nurses and dialysis professionals.”
