FORT DODGE, Iowa—Trinity Regional Medical Center has completed the transition of its renal programs as of Sept. 1, 2011, to a joint venture between Renal Ventures Management and Dr. Michael Lee.
Trinity Regional Medical Center is a licensed 200 bed non-profit hospital that serves Fort Dodge and surrounding communities.
The two Iowa clinics—now operating as Renal Center of Fort Dodge and Renal Center of Webster City—currently provide dialysis services and education to more than 70 patients.
"At Trinity, our mission is to improve the health of our citizens by providing quality care in an efficient and cost-effective manner," said Sue Thompson, Trinity's President and CEO. "Renal Ventures has a strong history of providing quality renal care to patients throughout the country and Dr. Lee brings extensive experience caring for patients in our community."
Colorado-based Renal Ventures is a provider of dialysis services, with 25 dialysis centers in six states that treat more than 1,600 patients. Construction for five more dialysis clinics is currently under way, according to the company.
"Because of Dr. Lee’s quality focus and with Trinity’s tradition of caring, we’re enthusiastic about the venture," said Larry Chatfield, CEO of Renal Ventures. "Given our mutual shared values, the Renal Ventures team is looking forward to working with our new partners to take renal care to a different level in North Central Iowa."
Since 2000, Lee has served as the Medical Director for the Trinity Regional Medical Center Diabetes Center and, since 2007, for a second TRMC Dialysis Unit in nearby Webster City. He has lent his knowledge to the Trimark Physicians Group Medical Board and represents the Internal Medicine Specialists.
"Having worked as a staff Nephrologist at Buena Vista Renal Center in Storm Lake, Iowa, and knowing how Renal Ventures operates, I feel confident that we will provide the same, or improved, care to our patients that we have been providing through TRMC," Lee said.
