LAKEWOOD, Colo.—Effective continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is largely determined by adequate anticoagulation of the extracorporeal circuit. According to the company Gambro, their new product, FleXitrate, makes performing regional citrate anticoagulation simple and safe.

FleXitrate is enabled by Prismaflex eXeed II, Gambro’s latest software addition to the Prismaflex system. The Prismaflex eXeed II allows convective and diffusive therapies with fully integrated citrate management and calcium substitution to the patient.

FleXitrate also includes Gambro’s full range of pre-formulated citrate anticoagulant products and calcium-free dialysis products for easier citrate implementation.

“FleXitrate brings together the flexibility of Prismaflex eXeed II with the complete line of Gambro solutions,” said William Clark, MD, vice president of medical strategy and therapy development at Gambro. “We are now offering customers a simple and cost-effective way to deliver regional citrate anticoagulation.”

Gambro is a global medical technology company and a leader in developing, manufacturing and supplying products and therapies for kidney and liver dialysis, Myeloma kidney therapy, and other extracorporeal therapies for chronic and acute patients.
